What is the weirdest meal you’ve had during quarantine?

I wanted to cook a kind of vegan chocolate pie, a full raw one including the pie shell, in terms of taste it was an epic fail! haha

How would you describe yourself and your work as a creative?

Always a difficult question but I would say someone that is definitely curious and that has a special connection with colors.

My everyday work is to be a print designer for fashion and decoration, I draw/ paint a lot, it could be digital for a filter for exemple or on other mediums such as fabric or paper, but more and more I tend to try 3D things, as sculpture and especially fabric sculpture, or shapes related to colors and prints.

How are you currently feeling about the global pause?

As i am a freelancer, it doesn’t affect a lot my way of working except that I have maybe less work, so more time for personal projects.

I feel relaxed, I am lucky to be in the countryside and away from the city and the oppressive vibe that could be there.

Being surrounded by nature, I feel more inspired and less stressed, I think that for creative people this period is a good challenge, you are able to take the time, and concentrate yourself on the real things!

Long term, how do you think this will affect the industry?

I think we will face a difficult economic time, it will touch all the fields and especially the creative ones, but in a way I hope will think different, consume less, find new way of working, be more connected to nature, less selfish … however I don’t really trust our government on that ... so the future will maybe be frustrating !

What are you doing daily to maintain your focus and energy, to continue to create?

Sleep well, take the time to cook nice things, to rest, to read, and mostly to not be scared of trying new things, It’s the best way to evolve, these times made me realize that most of the things can be done, if I really want to.

Can you please explain your work situation; either work that you’re currently creating, or work that has been affected by COVID-19?

The projects I am working on are a bit slowed down, production in fashion has been stopped, so it gave me time for my personal project and things I would like to try, I am working on small sculptures, a series of stone/ rock balanced in trees, a series of drawing that I called « fabric sculptures » inspired by Japanese print and objects, and another one on which I painted with natural brushes I find in the garden such as leaves or flowers ... so a lot of possibilities.

What don’t you miss about pre-Corona life?

I don’t miss the city noises, the stress of being too static in a constant movement world, my non super healthy way of life, pigeons, subway ( and for the do miss, but then not sure if needed haha ) but I do miss going to the restaurant, walk freely, parties with good music and friends, the outside drinks, I am not a « phone call person » I really prefer to talk in real, see the people, I do need human warmth, so it will sound cheesy but the thing I miss the most for sure are my friends!
